On Monday, Texas Athletics announced that they secured a new sponsor in the local company, Humann. As part of this sponsorship agreement, Texas will be adding the cardiovascular health company’s logo to all playing surfaces.

Humann is an Austin-born company, specifically founded through the University of Texas Health Science Center research program. It has been helping to support cardiovascular health for Texas athletes for over a decade, according to the press release.

The company was founded in 2009 and has since been dedicated to helping people aged 18 to 85 maintain healthy cardiovascular systems, specifically through performance supplements. Healthy blood pressure, boost energy, endurance, and recovery are the main factors targeted by Humann in its attempt to support athletes in maintaining good health.

It is a trusted company and source, having sold over 27 million units and being founded by Dr. Ferid Murad, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Medicine in 1998. Just over 10 years later, he began working with researchers at the University of Texas and ultimately founded Humann in 2009. A year later, the company went public.

Dr. Murad passed away a couple of years ago in 2023, but his dream for the company is ever-evolving. The company has helped the Longhorns in every sport with performance nutrition and cardiovascular health, leading to more than 20 national titles overall.

The Humann sponsorship and on-field logos will begin this fall, with the first appearance coming on Sept. 6, when the Texas Longhorns football team returns to Austin to face San Jose State after traveling to face Ohio State in Week 1.

Every sport, except for basketball, will implement the logo on its playing surface for the upcoming season. Texas basketball will place the Humann logo on the court in Moody Center for the 2026-2027 season.

Here is a rendering of what Campbell-Williams Field will look like with the addition:

This will be the second change to the field in just around a year, considering that the Longhorns ditched the Big 12 logo and exchanged it for the SEC last summer. Texas is just one of many to start implementing on-field sponsorships, though. The next Texas opponent, Ohio State, has done so recently, and so has fellow SEC member, Auburn.

This is just one step in the right direction for the advancement of Texas athletes, and will hopefully contribute to more national titles for the Longhorns in every sport in the future. Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte also spoke on the news.

“The exciting opportunity with Humann reinforces what starts at Texas, changes the world. If we were going to make the decision to put a brand on our fields, courts, and across all our athletics venues, it had to have an incredible story of The University of Texas,” said Chris Del Conte. “What began with Texas researchers has been used by our student-athletes for over a decade to help them perform better on the field and aiding Longhorn fans and people around the country to be at their best heart health for everyday life.”
