The Aggies and Longhorns are set to meet again in 2025, with both teams back in the same conference. And on Thursday, the Longhorns announced the date and kick off time information.

The 2025 Lone Star Showdown between will kick off at 6:30 pm CT on Friday, November 28, in Austin. This is just the second game in the renewed football rivalry since Texas joined the SEC ahead of the 2024 season.

This game will make it the first time the two teams have played on a Black Friday since the 2007 season, when both were members of the Big 12 Conference. Prior to last season’s renewal, which was played on a Saturday, the last four Lone Star Showdown games were all held on Thanksgiving Day from 2008-11. Prior to that, the game was played on the Friday after Thanksgiving from 1996-2007.

Last season, UT handled A&M 17-7 at Kyle Field, as UT went on to play in the SEC Championship Game, which they won, and then move on to the College Football Playoff.

The 2025 edition of the rivalry series will be the 120th all-time meeting, with the Longhorns holding a 77-37-5 all-time edge. Texas has won four of the last five games in the series, with the last loss coming in the 2010 game in Austin, which was also the last time the two teams met in the state’s capital.
