The Tennessee Vols are hoping to advance to their third straight College World Series.
Tennessee will kick off NCAA Tournament play on Friday night in the Knoxville Regional against Miami (OH). If the Vols beat Miami (OH), they'll player the winner of game one between Cincinnati and Wake Forest on Saturday. If Tennessee loses to Miami (OH), they'll play the loser of Cincinnati vs Wake Forest.
On Thursday, The Athletic predicted that Tennessee will advance past the Knoxville Regional to the Super Regional in Fayetteville against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
And that's where The Athletic thinks the Vols' 2025 season will end. They have Arkansas taking down Tennessee in the Super Regional.
Here are the eight teams The Athletic predicts will make it to Omaha.
It's certainly not an easy road for the Vols. Advancing past the Knoxville Regional will be tough enough. Playing in Fayetteville, a place where the Vols haven't won a series since 2001, will be a tall task for Tennessee.
The Vols won a Super Regional on the road in Hattiesburg in 2023 when they reached the College World Series, so this isn't unfamiliar territory for the program. But I'm sure Tennessee wouldn't mind seeing Arkansas get knocked out of Fayetteville Regional, which would result in the Vols getting to host a Super Regional.
Of course, Tennessee has to take care of business this weekend in Knoxville before they can worry about what happens in the Super Regional.
