Most folks in the national media feel better about the Tennessee Vols this season after UT's 44-41 overtime loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Tennessee didn't leave Neyland Stadium with a win this past Saturday, but they certainly made the Bulldogs sweat.
The Volunteers had a chance to win the game on a walk-off field goal. But unfortunately for Tennessee, Max Gilbert's potential game-winning kick went wide right.
Georgia went on to win the game in overtime after Tennessee had to settle for a field goal on their first possession in overtime.
The general feeling around college football is that, despite the loss, Tennessee proved they're a legitimate College Football Playoff contender.
On3's Brett McMurphy, however, doesn't appear to feel the same way.
McMurphy revealed his latest bowl game projections on Sunday and he has the Vols playing Nebraska in the ReliaQuest Bowl on December 31 in Tampa.
Oddly, McMurphy currently has Georgia, which was a missed field goal away from suffering its first loss of the season, as the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff.
All you can do is laugh if you're a Vols fan (or even if you're just a college football fan in general).
Maybe McMurphy didn't watch any of the Tennessee vs Georgia game -- after all, his projections reek of box score watching. Anyone who watched that game knows that Tennessee should've won (that's Kirby Smart's take). The Vols showed they can compete with any team in the nation when they're at their best.
Results obviously matter, but they don't tell the whole story. McMurphy, though, exposed himself as someone who only looks at results with this hilariously bad take.
