The New York Giants just made a big statement about Jalin Hyatt, leaving no doubt how they feel about the former Tennessee WR

There's been a lot of uncertainty surrounding wide receiver Jalin Hyatt's roster status with the New York Giants ahead of the 2025 season.

Hyatt dealt with injuries during training camp, limiting his opportunities to climb New York's depth chart after a tough 2024 season (the former Tennessee Vols wide receiver caught just eight passes for 19 yards last season).

On Tuesday, Hyatt learned that he made the Giants' initial 53-man roster.

And not only did the Giants choose to keep Hyatt on the 53-man roster, they turned down overtures from other franchises that were looking to trade for the South Carolina native.

Hyatt, a third round selection by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, is still trying to find his way in the NFL. At times, it's looked like the Giants were ready to give up on the 2022 Biletnikoff Award winner (as evidenced by his lack of opportunities last season).

New York could've easily moved on from Hyatt this week by either waiving him or trading him to a new team for a fresh start. The fact that the Giants chose to keep Hyatt on the 53-man roster instead of sending him to another team for a draft pick seems to indicate that the team still believes in his ability to make an impact in the NFL.

Hyatt still has a lot to prove, and it's unclear what kind of opportunities he'll receive with the Giants this fall, but the fact that New York decided to keep the former Vol is at least a small vote of confidence in the third-year wide receiver's talent.
