Insert all of the heart emojis and the sappy love songs as the 4x M’VP of the league in A’ja Wilson and Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo have everyone’s attention this season.
On Friday, the Las Vegas Aces cemented their dynasty earning their third championship in just four years.
A’ja Wilson was named the finals MVP as she helped power the Aces to a sweep of the Phoenix Mercury. It is the second time she’s received the honor.
In game three, Wilson hit a clutch game winner with the clock winding down to mere seconds. In the series clinching game, Wilson dropped 31 points.
Her 31 points gave her the league record for most points scored in a postseason.
With Wilson reaching higher and higher loading her trophy case with more accolades than she can keep up with, she was long overdue for an emotional release following the Aces sweep of the Mercury.
Wilson shared a sweet moment with her boyfriend, Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo at center court in the midst of all the celebration.
Wilson said, “Thank you for believing in me baby,” as she wept in Adebayo’s arms.
Although NBA workouts have begun, Adebayo has been in Wilson’s corner the entirety of the Aces magical playoff run.
“Super proud of her,” he said. “Y’all don’t see the behind the scenes, the ups and the downs, so being able to obviously have this moment with her and share this moment, it’s truly special. I’m truly proud of her and like I tell everybody, be thankful for it while it’s here.”
Not only did he get to witness her greatness during the WNBA Finals, but he was also there with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to present A’ja Wilson with her 4th league MVP at the Aces practice facility along with her parents, Roscoe and Eva Wilson.
Here’s to sharing more memorable moments together.
