There are some classic horror movie tropes that will never, ever die. Some of them are quite humorous, like running up the stairs, while others are more sobering and sadly realistic, like not being believed. Whether it is the police, family, or friends, it is terrifying to imagine going to someone you’d like to trust with some seriously disturbing info and having them wave off your concerns. This is doubly concerning as a woman, for many obvious reasons. And that’s the crux of the horror that Keira Knightley faces in the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming thriller The Woman in Cabin 10.
In the clip, Knightley’s character is a journalist who is on assignment on a very luxurious yacht. Things seem rather off with the passengers outside of them being rich and snobby. One night, she awakens to hear screaming and goes out onto her balcony. To her horror, she sees a passenger thrown overboard into the dark waters.
She alerts authorities and, by extension, other passengers, but they insist that there was no one in Cabin 10. They all claim there are no missing passengers, but this intrepid journalist is determined to discover the truth. At the end of trailer for The Woman in Cabin 10, her life is in danger for refusing to let things go. Oh dear.
This film is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Ruth Ware. Alongside Knightley, The Woman in Cabin 10 boasts a stacked cast including Guy Pearce, David Ajala, Art Malik, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kaya Scodelario, David Morrissey, Daniel Ings And Hannah Waddingham, Gitte Witt, Christopher Rygh, Pippa Bennett-Warner, John MacMillan, Paul Kaye, Amanda Collin, and Lisa Loven Kongsli.
Watch Keira Knightley face a murder and gaslighting when The Woman in Cabin 10 hits Netflix just in time for spooky season on October 10.
