Thrash Opts Out of Bowl Game and Final Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football team received some disappointing news today as junior wide receiver Jamari Thrash announced that he will not be playing in the upcoming Holiday Bowl against USC. Not only that, but Thrash has decided to forgo his final year of eligibility, making this his last season with the team.

Thrash had an impressive season with the Cardinals, leading the squad in receiving with 63 receptions for 858 yards and six touchdowns. His contributions were instrumental in the team’s success, as they finished with a 10-3 record and made an appearance in the ACC title game.

The talented wide receiver had two standout performances during the season, recording a pair of 100-yard receiving games. Thrash’s career-high came in a crucial 21-14 victory over Indiana, where he racked up 159 yards on just four receptions. He also had a memorable road game against Pittsburgh, where he hauled in a season-high nine passes for 120 yards.

Despite his decision to leave the team, Thrash has accepted an invitation to play in the prestigious Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on February 3rd, 2024. This will provide him with an opportunity to showcase his skills to NFL scouts and potentially improve his draft stock.

Thrash’s absence will undoubtedly be felt by the Cardinals in the Holiday Bowl, as he was a key playmaker in their passing game. However, the team will have to rally together and find other ways to compensate for his absence.
