The Oklahoma City Thunder are sitting pretty in the Western Conference Finals after defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1.
They're now just three wins away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to live up to every expectation set of him and, in many instances, has gone beyond.
In Game 1, after struggling from the field in the first half, Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 of his 31 points in the second half to help pull away in the 114-88 victory.
While both teams rest up ahead of Game 2 on Thursday, the league made an exciting announcement regarding Gilgeous-Alexander.
According to a report from Shams Charania, Gilgeous-Alexander is officially the league's Most Valuable Player for this season.
As a result, he became the first player in the history of the Kentucky Wildcats' basketball program ever to take home the honor.

That's particularly impressive when you consider the number of high-level players Kentucky has put into the NBA over the years.
Names like Anthony Davis, who might've won one over the years if he had been able to stay healthy for full seasons.
Then you have players like Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns and Julius Randle who are still in the league, as well as former NBA players like John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins.
It remains to be seen whether or not players like Tyrese Maxey or Tyler Herro will ever reach similar levels, but it's still an impressive feat when you consider Kentucky was an NBA prospect factory for awhile.
