Ticket Prices For Big Ten Championship Plummet After Ohio State's Loss To Michigan

College football fans won't need to deplete their savings to attend the Big Ten Championship Game.

No. 1 Oregon will face No. 3 Penn State on Saturday night in Indianapolis. While both teams should be assured entry into the College Football Playoff, the winner will earn a first-round bye.

The Ducks will look to stay perfect in their inaugural Big Ten season. With the old division format eradicated, this marks the first time since 2016 that Ohio State or Michigan won't win the conference crown.

Saturday's surprising loss to the Wolverines blocked the Buckeyes from getting another crack at the Ducks this weekend. Perhaps that development helped curtail ticket prices.

As of Wednesday morning. the starting price for Big Ten Championship Game tickets is $12 on StubHub. That's not including site fees, let alone parking and concessions at the stadium.

Fans craving a closer seat to the action still must spend more. Seats beyond the upper deck typically start above $100, and midfield tickets at the lowest level cost as much as $1,249 per seat.

The starting point is nevertheless considerably cheaper than Saturday's other major conference championship matchups.

The cheapest seat for the ACC Championship Game at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium is $31 on StubHub. Tickets for the Big 12 Championship Game start at $42, and it may not shock fans to see that an SEC showdown between Texas and Georgia is the costliest ticket by a wide margin.

StubHub's least expensive seat inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium is $108. The costliest ticket is $33,401.

Perhaps the midwest hasn't fully warmed to Oregon yet. Dan Lanning's Ducks enter Saturday's game as the only undefeated FBS team, averaging 35.3 points per game.

Meanwhile, James Franklin's Nittany Lions must prove they can finally win the big one. Although they're 11-1, their only victory over a ranked opponent came at home against No. 21 Illinois.

The Big Ten Championship Game kicks off Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. Those not attending can watch the matchup on CBS.
