Tigres and Monterrey will clash in the Liga MX quarterfinals, in another edition of the Regio derby. The UANL side ended in fifth place in the Mexican Clausura and is coming off a streak of two wins in a row. In their most recent presentation, the Felines beat Tijuana by a score of 4-1.
The Rayados finished the regular season in the fourth spot of the standings with 32 points, ending a four-game winless streak on the last matchday of the regular season, when Monterrey defeated Necaxa 5-2.
Both teams already faced each other on April 13 in a derby that ended 3-3 at Monterrey’s field. Luis Romo, Gerardo Arteaga, and Gonzalo Berterame scored for the Rayados, while Juan Brunetta (2) and Fernando Gorriarán did so for the Tigres.
