The Tennessee Titans opted to give Cam Ward some familiarity in undrafted free agency by signing wide receiver Xavier Restrepo.
To learn more about Restrepo, we spoke with Miami Hurricanes On SI contributor Mark Morales-Smith.
Were you surprised to see Restrepo go undrafted?
I was very surprised to see Restrepo go undrafted. I knew his 40-time would drive him from Day 2 to Day 3, but I didn't think it would knock him right out of the draft. He was too productive to go undrafted. I thought the Titans would grab him that Saturday.
What are his biggest strengths?
His biggest strength is his ability to move the chains and make the dirty catches. His route running, toughness and reliable hands make him the perfect slot option on 3rd down.
What are his biggest weaknesses?
His biggest weakness is his lack of size and elite athleticism. He just physically isn't an ideal NFL star.
Who is his pro player comparison and why?
I'd compare him to Jarvis Landry. Landry was a slot receiver with great NFL film and production who fell in the draft because of a poor offseason workout that was also caused by trying to perform through a minor injury. His 40-time also hurt his s tock and he went on to be a great possession receiver in the NFL.
How do you think he will project in the NFL?
Because he fell out of the draft the toughest task for Restrepo will be earning that opportunity to be a major contributor. If he does get a chance to start in the slot with Cam Ward, I see him being a significant contributor as a possession receiver. No one should be surprised if in a year or two he's out there catching close to 100 passes. Even if he doesn't put up prolific yards or TD numbers.

Reported Micah Parsons Trade Cost Leaks
Micah Parsons wants a trade out of Dallas, but the team has no intention of honoring that request. Now entering the final year of his rookie contract, the former first-round pick has established himself as one of the game’s premier talents at his position. Since entering the league, the edge defender has recorded 52.5 sacks, 256 tackles, 112 quarterback hits, four Pro Bowls, and two First-Team All-Pro honors. Based on his age and performance history, he could easily reset the market for pass rushers, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones seems unwilling to hand out that type of money. However, they also don’t want to send a star player off to a new organization. While the team has publicly said they refuse to trade him, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the team could send Micah Parsons away if they receive a “Hershel Walker-sized” return. In October of 1989, the Cowboys sent running back Hershel Walker and three draft picks to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for five players and six draft picks, including three first-round picks. Dallas used these selections to build the core of their three Super Bowl-winning squads in the 1990s. The NFL has changed quite a bit since those days, and no team would ever offer that type of return for any singular non-quarterback. However, the fact Dallas is even entertaining a Micah Parsons trade suggests they are willing to begin discussions on a more realistic return. Jerry Jones loves his drama, so perhaps this is just one big way to get more attention. However, if he truly wants to part ways with one of his franchise players, he should have 31 teams willing to negotiate.

Bengals' Joe Burrow puts NFL on notice amid Trey Hendrickson contract standoff
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow finished fourth in Most Valuable Player Award voting for the 2024 season after his club missed the playoffs. During a recent chat with NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Burrow put the league on notice regarding how he's feeling heading into the upcoming campaign. "I’m not sure I would say anyone is playing the position better than I am right now," Burrow remarked. "I'm pretty confident in my ability to go out and do that every Sunday. Now, it’s just showing that consistency, showing it year in and year out. I think what separates the legends is being able to do it year in, year out for five, 10 years at a time. So, trying to be able to find that consistency in my discipline and my process, doing the easy stuff in my sleep and then making the hard stuff look easy, then making a couple of great plays here and there, that’s what I am trying to do every week." Pro Football Reference stats show that Burrow ended the 2024 regular season leading the league with 460 completions, 652 pass attempts, 4,918 passing yards, 43 passing touchdowns and an average of 289.3 passing yards per game. The Bengals subsequently rewarded their QB1 during the offseason by signing wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, wideout Tee Higgins and tight end Mike Gesicki to new deals. "We want to be the best offense in the NFL," Burrow told Breer. That said, Bengals pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson remains in the middle of what's become an ugly contract standoff. Hendrickson is in the final year of his existing deal, and the two sides seemingly aren't close to agreeing on the amount of guaranteed money that would be attached to an extension. Burrow has repeatedly made it known throughout the summer that he thinks the Bengals should "reward" Hendrickson with a pay raise. "...I think the more that I can explain the thoughts of the locker room, explain why doing one thing one way might affect feelings in the locker room, as opposed to doing something a different way, it’s my job as a quarterback to be able to relay information like that," Burrow said about campaigning for Hendrickson to get paid before Cincinnati opens the 2025 season at the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 7. "And whatever their decisions are with that information, that’s for them to decide." On Friday, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Bengals at -140 odds to make the playoffs this season. Having a happy Hendrickson in the lineup would only improve Cincinnati's chances of enjoying what could become a special campaign.
Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur Takes Notice of Tucker Kraft’s Transformation After TE’s Award
There are high hopes for Green Bay Packer tight end Tucker Kraft to take another leap in the 2025 NFL season. Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft’s charity gets appreciated Kraft earned the award for his charitable gestures in Wisconsin and back home in South Dakota. The 24-year-old tight end has been a supporter of the Cheyenne River Youth Project, a local nonprofit, which has helped give over a thousand toys to kids. After accepting the award, Kraft offered a short but meaningful speech. “Where you’re from can never set a limit on where you want to go,” Kraft said. Meanwhile, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur shared a special message about his appreciation for Kraft. “It’s an honor to work with a guy like that each and every day,” LaFleur said. “To watch the maturity and growth, not only as a person but as a player … he does a great job representing what we want to be about with his actions on the field as well as off the field. “Tuck, we can’t have enough guys like you on our football team.”
