Titans 'Rumored' to Have Preference Between Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders After Landing No. 1 Overall Pick

The Tennessee Titans ended their 2024 campaign with a 23-14 defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans in Week 18, and with the New England Patriots beating the Buffalo Bills, they earned the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. And it sounds like they may already have a preference between Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.

While this quarterback class is not believed to be nearly as good as it was in 2024, Ward and Sanders are believed to be the top two quarterbacks available. And considering how they just went 3-14, it's clear this team needs a new quarterback, with Will Levis enduring a horrid 2024 campaign.

Thankfully, with the No. 1 overall pick, the Titans now have the perfect avenue to upgrade their quarterback room. And when it comes to choosing between Ward and Sanders, it sounds like Tennessee is very high on Ward, which could end up influencing their draft day decision.

Both Ward and Sanders put together strong seasons with the Miami Hurricanes and Colorado Buffaloes respectively. Ward led all FBS passers with 39 passing touchdowns in 2024, while Sanders posted a completion percentage of 74% on his passes, which was tops among all FBS passers.

Both guys have their own strengths and weaknesses, but it will be imperative that the Titans make the right choice when it comes to selecting their next quarterback. Of course, it's not a given that they will select a quarterback with this pick, but it seems like it would be their best course of action.

The good news for Tennessee is that, they have a lot of time to make up their mind on what to do after they unexpectedly found themselves in this spot. However, it looks like Ward may quickly become a trendy choice to be the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
