Father’s Day is coming. Your dad is a bass fisherman. You’ve heard him tell so many fishing stories over the years that they’ve all started to blend together. You’ve tried to pay attention, you really have. As one of those dads myself, we appreciate the effort, but understand that you probably won’t remember the difference between a flippin’ rod, a wacky rig and a channel swing.

Now it’s almost Father’s Day and you want to support his passion. But what can you get for dad that he’ll genuinely love and use? Here are my Top 10, can’t miss, unique, perfect gifts for any bass fishing dad.

1.) Bass Fishing Hall of Fame Auction

I’ll mention this one first because it’s for a fairly limited time. Get your bids in before June 9th. But it’s an opportunity to get your bass fishing dad a one-of-a-kind piece of bass fishing memorabilia. If I may suggest, take a look at a tournament Jersey signed by the current, reigning Bassmaster Classic Champion, Justin Hamner. Or maybe dad would like one of bass fishing legend, Kevin VanDam’s signed jerseys from just after his official retirement (This one is getting a little pricey at the time of writing this. Maybe dad’s been extra good?). Or how about a group of the 50 favorite summertime lures of the 2022 Bassmaster Classic Champ, Jason Christie, including 3 lures personally signed by him. There are a bunch of great items up for bid. Plus, I’m confident dad would be excited to know the purchase will also support the work of the Hall of Fame. (Est. Retail -$ varied)

2.) Bajio Sunglasses -Readers

I know for myself, as a fishing dad who may have denied, or tried to downplay, my slowly slipping ability to see the smallest stuff, this pair of super cool, very high-end, stylish, polarized sunglasses was an amazing find. Bajio calls them readers, but I would have described them as bifocals. I guess from a marketing perspective bifocals is way too linked to Ben Franklin and lacks a the cool factor, but they work great. These are the same great looking frames as their normal sunglasses (like the Stiltsville model my XL head has fallen in love with), but the bottom portion of the lens has a small amount of magnification (+1.50, + 2.00, or +2.50). When viewed from the front of the glasses, nobody would ever know. But by tilting your gaze down, suddenly you can thread fine line through small hooks with ease. This changes everything for bassing dads over 40. (Est. Retail $229)

3.) AFTCO Air-O Mesh Sun Protection Shirt

Ask anyone who has spent a good bit of time on the water, and they can tell you stories of their own or of close friends who know the very real long term effects of the sun on exposed skin. It’s not worth messing around with. Especially when AFTCO has such comfortable, stylish sun shirts. Constructed from a super breathable Air-O Mesh fabric, the Air-O Mesh Hooded Fishing Shirt is designed to keep you cool and comfortable even in the most humid conditions. This lightweight breathable fishing hoodie features a UPF 50 rating and a DWR stain-resistant coating that helps protect you from the sun's harmful UV rays. With a built-in hood and thumb loops, you can count on this fishing shirt with UV protection to keep dad covered and protected all day long. (Est. Retail $55)

4.) Toadfish Baitcast Combo

Toadfish is a super innovative, conservation-minded company that has quickly become known for clever, stylish, well-made gear to enhance your experience outdoors and on the water. There are a ton of great items to choose from, but specifically for bass fishing dads, let me recommend one of their Baitcasting Combos. These combos include powerful lightweight rods that load beautifully with consistent bends throughout, and a responsive tip section. And the reel combines innovation, durability, and top-tier performance to ensure you're always one step ahead of your catch. And since Toadfish is actually a coastal company, their gear is built to last with rugged salt-proof components and a revolutionary ergonomic handle that won't chip, tear, or weather. So, if dad lives somewhere he can occasionally chase a redfish or a speckled trout, no problem. But if he sticks to freshwater bass, this gear is going to last forever. (Est. Retail $199)

5.) Rugged Road Cooler

In a world of high-end coolers, Rugged Road is a real standout. They’ve combined two breakthrough technologies for unmatched strength, feather weight (literally half the weight of comparable coolers), and maximum storage capacity. And, of course, these coolers will keep ice for 7 days. And here’s another neat little feature that’s perfect for use on the water, they always float upright, even when fully loaded. (Est. Retail $299-399)

6.) AFTCO Barricade Rain Suit

AFTCO Barricade is a great-looking, high-performance rain suit at about half the price you'd expect for similar quality and features. An elasticated hem cinch allows you to quickly dial in the fit while the Double Dry cuffs prevent water from seeping up the arms. Zippered side pockets, D rings, and the signature SpeedVent™ hood get you across the lake or channel without having to worry about your hood flying off. This is the right rain suit to keep dad comfortable while bass fishing in harsh weather conditions. (Est. Retail Jacket -$249. Bib -$229)

7.) Fishing Forward Outfitters Bass Phone Cases

Here is the perfect phone case for bass angling fathers. I’ve always found that these bass fishing designs are a real conversation starter among fishermen. This dual layered case design, with a strong, impact-resistant, polycarbonate outer shell, and a shock-dampening inner rubber sleeve, has you covered for most accidental drops. I know I’ve dropped my phone many times and it has protected it perfectly. Seven bass-y designs to choose from. Available for iPhones, Samsung Galaxy, and Google phones. (Est. Retail $29.90)

8.) CPF Thumper “Speed Worm”

Okay, I realize that most of the items on this list might require a pretty healthy shopping budget, so let me point one out that should work for both your wallet and your dad’s fishing enjoyment. Think of these as a Father’s Day “stocking stuffer”. Thumper Worms from CPF Lures are a can’t miss. They’re super easy to fish and big bass eat them everywhere they live. While it looks like a fairly simple worm, CPF Lures put a ton of designing, engineering and testing into these baits until they were absolutely perfect. Available in Floating, Slow Floating, Pro & Jr. in a selection of great, proven colors, these are a bass fishing dad, gift buying, slam dunk. (Est. Retail $3.99-12.99)

9.) Daiwa D-VEC Dry Bag

Here is the kind of item that any bass fisherman would be excited to receive at any time. If he doesn’t have one, he’ll be thrilled to get one. If he already has one, he’ll want a second one. This waterproof dry bag backpack from Daiwa is made of tarpaulin/nylon with PVC coated material and features a rollover design, waterproof closure, keeping all dad’s belongings safe and dry. The number of uses a bass fisherman will find for this bag is endless. (Est. Retail $79.99)

10.) TINCUP Whiskey Adventure Pack

I’m a dad who loves bass fishing and good whiskey. Maybe your dad feels the same? This really cool looking, reusable, TINCUP® Adventure Pack is made with double-walled stainless steel, to stay insulated on the lake. Its smaller, lighter size means it’s super easy to pack. And best of all, inside this stainless steel canteen you’ll find classic TINCUP® Original—a blend of “high rye”straight bourbon whiskey and Colorado single malt. This delicious whiskey is perfect for unwinding at the end of another perfect day on the water or toasting a new personal best catch. (Est. Retail $30.99)
