The Toronto Argonauts have re-signed 2023 breakout star wide receiver Damonte Coxie.
After letting several of last season's standout Argos jump ship in free agency without a fight, the Boatmen are back in business by bringing back a player they prioritized as a must in 2024.
Coxie, 27, developed quite the big-play connection with quarterback Chad Kelly in 2023.

Coxie reeled in 39 passes last season for 787 yards (second on the team) and five touchdowns, leading the CFL with 20.2 yards per catch.
The 6-3, 200-pound pass catcher signed with the Argos in 2022. He got his feet wet in the Canadian game and hauled in 15 receptions for 210 yards in seven games during his rookie CFL campaign.
The Louisiana native played college football at Memphis from 2016-20, playing 43 games and recording 185 catches for 2,948 yards and 20 touchdowns. Coxie was the second player at Memphis to record back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in the school's history.
Coxie's is an example of Toronto's ability to identify and develop talent.
The Argos have eight pending free agents when the official free-agency signing period commences Tuesday. Six players from last year's squad have agreed to terms with other CFL teams in the last few days.
Off the Boatmen's ship are kicker Boris Bede (Edmonton), cornerback Jamal Peters (Hamilton), defensive back Adarius Pickett (Ottawa), running back A.J. Ouellette (Saskatchewan), defensive tackle Dewayne Hendrix (Hamilton) and defensive end Brandon Barlow (Hamilton).
