The Las Vegas Raiders have a lot of good things going for them on offense. Brock Bowers might be the best tight end in the NFL, Ashton Jeanty has superstar potential at running back and Geno Smith is a massive upgrade at quarterback over what they've had the last two seasons.
However, it isn't a perfect group. Outside of Jakobi Meyers, the team is very unproven at wide receiver. There are some intriguing young pieces, but it's difficult to be too confident in the group right now. If the Raiders want to upgrade the group before the season, they may need to swing a trade.
The San Francisco 49ers also have issues at wide receiver. Brandon Aiyuk isn't fully healthy yet, and Jauan Jennings wants a new contract or a trade.
The 49ers don't seem keen on paying Jennings. They just traded for Skyy Moore, which suggests that they won't be changing their tune.
The regular season is closing in, and San Francisco could finally pursue a Jennings trade. Bleacher Report pitched a trade that would send Jennings to the Raiders for wide receiver Tre Tucker and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
"If San Francisco isn't willing to meet his demands, it could be forced to trade the veteran in order to avoid the messy holdout spilling into the regular season," Alex Kay wrote. "If he does become available, a team like the Raiders could quickly come calling.
"Las Vegas is gearing up to make a run in the AFC West but needs to find more receiving talent to compete with the high-scoring offenses in the division. Adding Jennings in exchange for a late pick in the 2026 draft and underperforming wideout Tre Tucker—who could thrive in head coach Kyle Shanahan's system—could push the Raiders over the edge."
Had Kay pitched a deal that swapped Tucker and Jennings outright, that could make some sense. But adding a fourth-round pick to the deal seems like too much.
Jennings never had more than 416 yards prior to last season. A big reason why he saw added volume was due to Aiyuk missing most of the season. Tucker had 539 receiving yards last season, so he can be productive.
Plus, the Raiders would have to pay Jennings. Las Vegas needs another wide receiver, but Jennings doesn't move the needle enough to make a trade that appealing.
