Trail Blazers To Sign Caleb Love To Two-Way Deal

The Portland Trail Blazers are adding some veteran college experience to their roster, agreeing to a two-way deal with former Arizona guard Caleb Love, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Love, a fifth-year senior who began his career at North Carolina, went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft despite a decorated run in college. He was the 2024 Pac-12 Player of the Year and earned All-Big 12 honors in 2025 following Arizona’s conference move.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game last season for the Wildcats. He shot just under 40 percent from the field, 34 percent from three, and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line across 37 appearances.

Known for his confidence and shot-making, Love brings plenty of big-game experience but also comes with concerns about efficiency and shot selection. The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie ranked him 63rd on his draft board.

It’s been a busy week in Portland. After landing veteran guard Jrue Holiday in a trade with Boston, the Blazers also moved out of the lottery to take a swing on 7-foot-2 center Hansen Yang out of Qingdao in Wednesday’s draft. Now they’re taking a flyer on Love, who will aim to show that his college scoring chops can translate in the pros.
