Darren Fletcher is one of the most recognisable names in Manchester United’s coaching set-up currently.
His journey with the Red Devils started earlier this year where, as exclusively revealed by CentreDevils, Fletcher being highlighted the front runner for the Under-18s coaching role following the departure of Adam Lawrence from the side.
Furthermore, most recently, he became the assistant of the Under-21s side temporarily demonstrating a major step up in his bid to enter professional management.
Meanwhile, Travis Binnion has acted as a part of the set-up in Manchester United’s coaching team since he joined the club in 2019.
Binnion, who was appointed Lead Coach for the Manchester United Under-18s team in 2021, has been a part of the academy since 2019 when he was appointed the Head of Player Development for the Under 14-16 phase.
Following this, most recently after after holding the player development position, he was appointed lead coach for the Under-21s set-up.
Now, Travis Binnion has been handed another opportunity as he replaced Darren Fletcher with the Manchester United Under-18s.
As reported by X account @RedYouthUnited, Binnion was a part of the coaching team with the Under-18s on Saturday due to Fletcher being unwell and not being able to take part.
For the Under-21s lead coach, working with the Under-18s arguably offers an opportunity to see potential players that could be called up to the Under-21s side in coming weeks and months.
As well as this, for the Under-18s side, it offers an opportunity to prove themselves when Fletcher is not there and to show the lessons that they have learnt from Darren Fletcher’s work and coaching.
