Travis Kelce’s Bold Social Media Move Fuels Taylor Swift-Blake Lively Feud: Report

Few would argue that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is supportive of pretty much anything when it comes to his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

So when the 10-time Pro Bowler made a subtle change on one of his social media accounts — a move that typically would have flown under the radar for most non-celebrities — fans took notice.

Kelce has reportedly unfollowed Ryan Reynolds, an A-list actor and co-owner of Welsch soccer club Wrexham, on Instagram.

The move immediately caught the attention of internet sleuths and Swifties alike given the high-profile nature of Swift’s public feud with longtime friend Blake Lively, Reynolds’ wife, and he and Swift’s history with the couple.

Though some users on social media claim Kelce never followed Reynolds on Instagram (Reynolds does, in fact, follow Kelce), a report from Page Six states he did, and his decision to unfollow him was motivated by the ongoing Swift-Lively feud.

"Page Six has exclusively learned that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end unfollowed Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, on Instagram because of the 'It Ends With Us' actress’ messy legal nightmare," the outlet wrote

"An unfollow on social media typically sends a message that an individual is cutting ties with the other, but it is unclear whether Kelce, 35, made the poignant move to avoid being dragged into the downward publicity spiral that Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48, have been recently caught up in — or if he is really done with their friendship."

Kelce and Swift have been seen multiple times in public with Lively and Reynolds on double dates, and Swift even invited them to sit with her in her suite at Super Bowl LVIII to watch the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas in 2024.

However, they were not invited to sit with her in February for the Chiefs’ attempt at a Super Bowl three-peat because the friendship is on thin ice after the “Blank Space” singer was dragged into Lively’s $400 million lawsuit against actor/director Justin Baldoni, in which she accuses him of sexual harassment, retaliation and organizing a media smear campaign against her.

The “It Ends With Us” star alleged that Lively used her friendship with Swift to strong-arm him into editing specific scenes of the movie, of which Lively also stars, her way leaving Baldoni no say in the matter.

Baldoni countered with his own $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and their publicist for defamation and extortion.

Though Lively filed a motion to dismiss her suit, according to E! News, Baldoni is still pushing forward with his, which is why Swift and actor Hugh Jackman are expected to be subpoenaed to testify in court.

With Swift and Kelce both trying to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible before the Chiefs’ training camp stars in late July, being pulled into a public lawsuit and forced to testify in court is likely something neither of them are thrilled about.
