While it won’t be open until the 2027 football season, USF has created some early buzz by announcing specifics regarding its new football stadium. A recent video was released by the Bulls showing the plans:

While several parts of the 35,000-seat stadium look interesting, the one that has drawn the most attention is the rooftop bar that will supposedly be the “longest in the state of Florida.”

This is a bold statement in a state known for impressive bars. It is also an interesting goal for a college football stadium. While EverBank Stadium, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has hot tubs, a pool and cabanas, that is a professional franchise. For a college to publicize having “the longest bar” is somewhat bold, but also fun and smart.

Since going a combined 21-4 in 2016 and 2017, the Bulls’ program has become somewhat stagnant. Head coach Alex Golesh has done an admirable job righting the ship after a disastrous run with Jeff Scott in charge when the Bulls went 4-26. Coach Golesh, who is about to begin his third season, has gone 14-12 and produced two bowl wins.

Now USF has a new stadium to sell recruits and a fun amenity that will continue to be talked about for the next two years. As long as Coach Golesh can keep the program on the right track during the next two seasons, USF is trending in the right direction.
