Tyson Bagent has often been regarded as one of the more underrated backups in the NFL today. As an undrafted rookie, he entered the league, but he has consistently proved that he belongs. It was up and down at times, but there have been more positive than negative moments. He once again showcased his incredible performance throughout the 2025 NFL preseason, and in his latest outing, it was no exception.

How Tyson Bagent Played Against The Kansas City Chiefs

In Week 3 of the 2025 NFL preseason, the Chicago Bears were facing the Kansas City Chiefs. Tyson Bagent played a majority of this game, and he brought the wow factor in this game. He completed 20/28 of his throws for 212 passing yards and three touchdown passes. He even had 10 rushing yards in that game as well. The Bears would win this game 29-27, and the team’s record is 2-0-1.

The Play of The Game for Bagent

It was hard to choose a play of the game involving Bagent as there were so many that occurred for him. Out of the bunch, his last touchdown throw has to cut. It was the game-winning touchdown, and the throw to Jahdae Walker was just perfect. It sealed the victory, and the Bears fans were loud in Kansas City once that happened.

Performances Like That Is Why The Bears Extended Him

The Chicago Bears made a surprising move by extending Tyson Bagent. He signed a 2-year extension $ worth $10 million with the organization. No matter what, Bagent will be the backup for the Chicago Bears, and depending on how Caleb Williams’ development goes. It’s clear they trust him, and the new coaching staff believes in him, which is excellent. Bagent getting emotional with the news in public was cool to see as that man fulfilled his dream.

Final Thoughts

August of 2025 has been Tyson Bagent’s greatest month in his life. Not only has he been electric on the football field, but he has also financially secured himself for the next two years at least. He deserves all the rewards he gets, and like the usual saying goes, hard work pays off, and it did for Bagent.
