UCLA Bruins: Adem Bona Tries To Inspire Team With 1 Strong Message After Getting Demolished By Arizona Wildcats
James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

The season just keeps on getting worse for Adem Bona and the UCLA Bruins. They failed anew in their quest to end their slump when they fell prey to No. 5 Arizona at home Thursday night, 88-65. Not that the loss was a big surprise for the Bruins and their supporters since the Wildcats are among the chief contenders to win the national title this year, but losing is never going to be an accepted norm for the program.

After the loss to the Wildcats, the UCLA Bruins saw their winless skid extended to five games. They only have one more game left in the regular season to try and end that embarrassing slump, with a scheduled game on Saturday at home versus the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Despite the loss, UCLA sophomore Adem Bona, who had 10 points and five rebounds along with five blocks in 29 minutes against the Wildcats, is keeping a fiery outlook for the team ahead of the clash against the Sun Devils and the looming Pac-12 tournament.

“We’ve got one more game – we have one more chance to show our character, our identity before the Pac-12 Tournament, and that’s a big opportunity for us,” Bona told reporters after the loss to the Wildcats.

Will The UCLA Bruins Join The 2024 March Madness Field?

Ranked just 119th in the current NET rankings and with only a single Quadrant 1 win this season, it’s safe to say that the UCLA Bruins will not have to sweat out Selection Sunday. They’re likely not going to get an at-large berth, and their only way to punch a ticket to the Big Dance is by winning the upcoming Pac-12 tourney.
