Your UCLA Bruins women's team improved their impeccable 2023-24 season record to 14-0 with a 65-54 victory over the Oregon State Beavers on Sunday.
Per Lauryn Olina Wang of The Daily Bruin, head coach Cori Close singled out the club's three starting perimeter players -- also the game's three high scorers -- for their two-way efforts on the night.
“I think our guard play – Charisma, Kiki, Londynn – it was their best complete game, most complete game on both ends of the court,” Close said. “They’re the reason we came out on top.”
5'9" fifth-year guard Charisma Osborne of Moreno Valley led the way for the Bruins. The 5'9" upperclassman played a team-most 36 minutes, scoring 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor, grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out four dimes, and swiping three steals.
5'11" sophomore wing Kiki Rice also played 36 minutes for UCLA, scoring a second-most 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field, pulling down six boards, passing for three assists, and grabbing one steal.
Finally, 5'4" sophomore guard Londynn Jones, the pride of Riverside, scored 12 points on a similarly inefficient 5-of-13 shooting from the field, while also grabbing two steals and passing for one assist.
UCLA will strive to survive its rematch against another elite Pac-12 squad, a road game across town against the ninth-ranked USC Trojans, on Sunday afternoon.
