Week 12 of the college football season has come to an end, meaning we are that much closer to bowl season and the first-ever expanded College Football Playoff.
The week provided a few big upsets, including New Mexico knocking off No. 18 Washington State, Arizona State beating No. 16 Kansas State, Stanford defeating No. 19 Louisville, and Kansas giving No. 9 BYU its first loss of the season.
Georgia also knocked off Tennessee and South Carolina beat Missouri in a pair of top-25 SEC showdowns, so there is an expectation that there will be movement in the updated College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night.
On Monday, BCSKnowHow.com posted the updated, simulated BCS rankings. Here is how the top 15 looks based on the old BCS system.
1) Oregon

Here’s our most up-to-date look at what the #BCS would look like were it still alive to grade the 2024 season to date. Losses by BYU and Tennessee clear out some space in the top 10 for a bit of a rankings shuffle: pic.twitter.com/1FwDNbPIDV

Notre Dame went from No. 8 to No. 6, Georgia went from No. 10 to No. 7 by defeating Tennessee, and BYU went from No. 7 to No. 13 with that loss to Kansas.
The BCS simulation compared to the rankings a week ago was eerily similar.
The top five teams were the same, and they had the same top eight teams, just with a few in a different order.

So far, the BCS and CFP rankings have been similar, so this could hint at some changes coming on Tuesday night.
It might not last long, either, with Week 13 full of noteworthy matchups, including Ohio State-Indiana, Ole Miss-Florida, BYU-Arizona State, and Army-Notre Dame.
