USA delivered a crushing blow to rivals Canada with a historic 169-run victory in Lauderhill, marking their most dominant win in ODI history and in the ongoing Cricket World Cup League 2.
Batting first, the hosts posted their highest-ever ODI total of 361/3, then bowled out Canada for just 192. This marks the USA’s fourth win in five games in the ongoing tournament. Among their standout performances was a record-breaking defense against Oman, where they successfully defended just 122 runs, the lowest total ever defended in men’s ODI history.
Canada’s reply never took off. Faced with a daunting target of 362, they crumbled under pressure, folding for just 192. Only Mansab Gill offered resistance, scoring an unbeaten 54 lower down the order. The USA bowling attack was clinical, with Sanjay Krishnamurthi leading the charge with 3/10, while Noshtush Kenjige and Harmeet Singh claimed two wickets apiece. Milind Kumar capped off his all-round performance by picking up two wickets as well.
This result takes the USA to 24 points from 17 matches, placing them second in the standings behind the Netherlands, who have 26 from 20. With momentum on their side, USA remains firmly in contention for the top position in the 2023–27 League 2 cycle.
USA's biggest win by runs was against Canada in 2025, winning by 169 runs. In 2024, they beat UAE by 136 runs. In 2021, they defeated PNG by 134 runs, and again in 2023 by 117 runs. USA also beat Oman by 114 runs in 2022 and Namibia by 114 runs in 2025.
