USC Trojans Family Reunites: Reggie Bush Throws First Pitch to Matt Leinart at Dodgers Game
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Can you believe it? Nearly 20 years have passed since Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush were blowing past opponents with the USC Trojans in their 2005 season. When the two Heisman Trophy winners teamed up on the field, it felt like the Trojans football team couldn’t be beaten. Considering they lost just two games in their three seasons together, the Trojans were nearly unbeatable.

While they didn’t get to reconnect once the dynamic duo reached the pros, both as first-round picks in the 2006 NFL Draft, now that both Leinart and Bush are long-retired, they have a bit more time on their hands.

Recently, on Friday night with the Los Angeles Dodgers in town hosting the Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium, Leinart and Bush had a chance to reconnect, but it wasn’t for another football game at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Instead, it was Bush on the mound, showing off his arm by making the ceremonial first pitch to Leinart before the Dodgers-Reds game got underway.

While Leinart was typically the one throwing to Bush in college, it’s nice to see the Trojans legends back on the field together, even if it didn’t involve football. Better yet, Bush finally has his Heisman Trophy back, 14 years after it was stripped by the NCAA.
