The USC Trojans came away with a big win today, as they took down Oregon with a 68-54 final score. Despite the team winning handily, it was the defensive performance of the starting five that shined.
The Trojans looked a bit slow in the opening quarter of the game, but despite their scoring woes, they continued to get crucial blocks and steals. One of the biggest defensive and offensive weapons in the win was Rayah Marshall.
Marshall has now been awarded a huge honor for her effort in the Trojans victory.

Marshall was all over the court, and she made every single play count. She secured 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks. She nearly scored the most points, only trailing one to JuJu Watkins, who secured 17.
Though Watkins is the biggest scorer that the Trojans have on the team, Marshall is one of the best rebounders. Her 10.7 rebounds per game is ranked 15th in the nation.
Second-chance baskets matter a great deal in basketball, and Marshall continues to show that she will fight for the ball no matter what. In games when the offense is not humming, its effort that could be the deciding factor.
Marshall showed that in spades in today's win.
