Looking to bounce back after their opening defeat, the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) host Spain in the second of two international friendlies today, Tuesday October 13. The match takes place at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. PT, 11:00 p.m. UTC). Spain won the first game 2-0 on October 10 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., with Patri Guijarro and Eva Navarro scoring inside the opening 15 minutes.
Spain are the reigning Women’s World Cup champions and the top-ranked team in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, and the USA are ranked second.
USWNT head coach Emma Hayes will be looking for greater efficiency in front of goal after her team created opportunities in the opening match but failed to score. The game is also the USA’s final fixture before their Concacaf W Championship quarterfinal in November, with qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup at stake in that tournament.
Emma Hayes has several options available after the first match, including Ashley Sanchez and Mallory Swanson, who both featured from the bench in Washington. Changes could be made as the USA seek to improve their attacking output and defensive organization.
