David Ankeye is in Italy and ready to complete his transfer from Sheriff Tiraspol in what is set to be a busy day for Genoa.

The 21-year-old striker has been spotted in Genoa on Wednesday morning ahead of his medical. Ankeye will join on a permanent deal for a reported fee of €2.5m.

Genoa are set to hand Ankeye a three-and-a-half year contract, running initially until the summer of 2028.

Elsewhere for Genoa, Vitinha is also in town ahead of his move from Olympique de Marseille.

The 23-year-old forward said his farewells to his Marseille teammates on Tuesday and arrived in Genoa the same day. He is also set to have his medicals and contract signing on Wednesday.

Vitinha’s move will be on loan initially until the end of the 2023-24 season, with an option to buy for a fee believed to be in the region of €25m.
