Virginia Football has added a commitment after a big official visit weekend.

2026 wide receiver Josiah Teasley, who plays at The St. James High School in Springfield, VA announced on social media today that he is committed to play for Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers. He becomes the seventh commitment for UVA's 82nd ranked recruiting class.

Teasley is going to bring a lot of size to the Virginia wide receiver room. The 6'5 195 LBS playmaker is going to be intriguing to follow and with the right development, could become a real factor for the program sooner rather than later. He is the first wide receiver to join the 2026 class for Virginia. Per 247Sports, he is the No. 244 wide receiver in the country and No. 35 player in the state of Virginia. He was offered this month by Virginia, went on an official visit, and now is a part of the 2026 class.

Virginia has been busy on the recruiting trail so far in the month of June.

Tony Elliott and his staff were able to flip three-star linebacker Derek Uran from Cincinnati last week.

Uran plays his high school football at Elder High School in Cincinnati and while the Bearcats are not a recruiting powerhouse, being able to flip a local recruit is no small thing. Uran is ranked as the No. 1132 prospect in the country, No. 94 linebacker, and the No. 48 player in the state of Ohio. He held other offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Liberty, Ohio, Toledo, and Central Michigan.

Earlier this month, UVA received a commitment from in-state athlete Alex Dunn, who is currently the highest-rated member of the 2026 class.

Dunn plays wide receiver and defensive back in high school and has talent at both positions. The 6'1 180 LBS athlete has a chance to be an impact player at the next level with the right development.

Three-star offensive tackle Michael Gildea, who plays at Hun School in Princeton (NJ) announced his commitment to Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers in May, becoming the fourth commitment for the Cavaliers in the 2026 class and the second offensive lineman.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Gildea is the No. 987 ranked player in the entire country, the No. 77 OT in the country, and the No. 19 player from the state of New Jersey. He held other offers from Boston College, Duke, North Carolina, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest, among others. He is reportedly going to take an official visit to UVA on the weekend of June 19th.

Chicago Blackhawks at Risk of Losing First Round Pick as Other Teams Pitch Big-Money Offers

Mason West is a talented prospect of the future for the Chicago Blackhawks, but it appears he may look to leave hockey for big opportunities in football. The Chicago Blackhawks landed Anton Frondell with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, but it was perhaps their second first-round pick that drew the most intrigue, as they drafted centre Mason West out of the USHL. That pick was intriguing for many reasons, with the 6-foot-6 centre having potential with his talent and his physicality, but now, the team may be in danger of losing the talented 17-year old. According to a report from The Athletic, the No. 29 overall pick has been drawing interest from several NCAA programs to join their team as a football player. Standing at 6-foot-6, the Minnesota native is a star in both hockey and football, tallying 49 points in 31 games at the high school level while also being a star Quarterback, and after putting up 9 points in 10 USHL games with the Fargo Force, the future is bright for him in both sports. Ultimately, at 17-years of age, the future is very bright whichever way West ends up going, but given that the Blackhawks used a first-round pick on him in this past seasons draft, they're clearly confident that they can not only keep him in hockey, but make a good NHLer out of him moving forward.

Steelers reporter shares big claim about how Aaron Rodgers has looked in training camp

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent the bulk of the spring as an unsigned free agent and, thus, only began officially practicing with Pittsburgh Steelers teammates during the team's three-day mandatory minicamp in June. During a Monday appearance on Pittsburgh radio station 102.5 WDVE, Steelers reporter Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette addressed how Rodgers looked during his first few training camp practices with the club. "His release is just astonishing to watch," Dulac said about Rodgers, as shared by Ross McCorkle of Steelers Depot. "Everybody knows about it, and when you see it in person, you see it every day in practice, you just marvel at it. To me, he's the greatest thrower of the football I have ever seen, even at 41 (years old). That flick of that wrist and that ball comes out, it's moving and it is something to see." Rodgers was with the New York Jets when he suffered a torn Achilles four offensive snaps into the 2023 regular-season opener. He was then slowed by a nagging hip issue, injuries to both his knees, a low ankle sprain and a serious hamstring problem as the 2024 Jets went 5-12. According to Pro Football Reference, Rodgers finished last season ranked 28th in the NFL among qualified players with a 48.0 adjusted QBR and 26th with a 43.9 percent passing success rate. That said, he was also eighth with 3,897 passing yards and tied for seventh with 28 passing touchdowns. Rodgers and Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson endured some struggles during training camp sessions last summer before the two allegedly "never saw eye-to-eye" during the season. It sounds like Pittsburgh fans should be encouraged by how Rodgers performed in recent practices. "That guy can get rid of the ball as quick as anybody," Dulac added. "He made three throws in seven-on-seven (drills) the other day that the cumulative total I bet couldn't have exceeded 2.1 seconds. And two of those were for touchdowns." Rodgers wants to finish his career "the right way" and help the Steelers notch at least their first playoff win since January 2017. As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Pittsburgh at -150 betting odds to miss the playoffs for the upcoming season.

Lakers coach JJ Redick issues challenge to Bronny James

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking for Bronny James to make some changes ahead of his second year in the NBA. James, the No. 55 pick in the 2024 draft, played in 27 games for the Lakers last season and started in one game. He averaged 2.3 points, .8 assists and .7 rebounds per contest. For James to improve on those numbers this season, head coach JJ Redick thinks the 20-year-old needs to change his physique. "The biggest thing for Bronny is that he has to get in elite shape," Redick said, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN. "That's the barrier of entry for him right now. And if he does that, I think he's got a chance to be a really fantastic player in the NBA." James didn't have much of a chance to get in elite shape before his rookie season. He played a shortened season at USC after suffering cardiac arrest on July 24, 2023. James made his debut for the Trojans on Dec. 10, 2023. Redick compared James' ceiling to Davion Mitchell of the Miami Heat and T.J. McConnell of the Indiana Pacers. For James to get there, he has to push past his fears of the prior cardiac arrest caused by a congenital heart defect. "I think we have all seen these amazing flashes of it from Bronny," Redick said. "And to get to that next level for him, it's cardio fitness. "He's cleared. ... I get that there's a history there of a really scary thing that he had to live through, and I think it's tough to push past certain points for him, but he's going to get there. He's going to get there." Based on Redick's comments, James has more to change than getting his 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame in shape for the upcoming season. He has to work on his mental fear of pushing his body too far. James' mental hurdle might be the biggest obstacle to his improvement as an NBA player.

Matt LaFleur has high praise for Packers' secret weapon

When you think about what the Green Bay Packers can do on offense in 2025, it starts with quarterback Jordan Love and quickly pivots to star running back Josh Jacobs. Those two will be the fulcrum that allows the Packers offense to shine this upcoming season, especially if both remain healthy. From there, there are high expectations for tight end Tucker Kraft, while someone in the wide receiver group of Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Matthew Golden has to step up to become a star — or at least as close to it as possible. Those weapons, plus an innovative offensive mind in head coach Matt LaFleur should keep Green Bay's offense humming among the best in the league all season, but there is one player who can put points on the board but is getting barely any attention nationally during training camp. And to be fair, kickers barely get any attention unless they're missing kicks, but kicker Brandon McManus is a game-winning secret weapon the Pack have in their back pockets as they head into this crucial season. If the Packers want to be a Super Bowl contender, they will need to win close games against good teams. Offense is exciting to watch and defense wins championships, but special teams is often the difference between winning and losing in the NFL. Luckily for the Packers, McManus is coming off a season in which he hit 20 of 21 field goals after being picked up to replace rookie Brayden Narveson. The Packers had high hopes for Narveson, but he missed five kicks in his first six games season. From a massive question mark at kicker to a veteran who is as consistent as they come, the Packers head into 2025 feeling extremely good about the kicking operation. "I don't even think about it," LaFleur said of McManus and the kicking operation on Monday at training camp, according to the team website. "It's great." McManus hasn't missed yet during training camp, and his leg already appears to be in midseason form. On Monday, he nailed three kicks from 45 yards and hit a long of 56. According to long-snapper Matt Orzech, McManus' secret is that he takes each kick as it comes and doesn't let anything get into his head. "It's kind of been that way ever since he got here," Orzech explained. "Even through all the crazy winter months with the wind, it's crazy on that practice field, but he handles it in stride. He never lets a miss of what he thought a line would do get to his head, and he just keeps taking each kick as it is." That's a mindset that won games for Green Bay in 2024, and McManus will be a weapon for the Packers in 2025 as long as he stays healthy and confident in his leg.
