The Tennessee Vols probably aren't going to reach the College Football Playoff this season.
Tennessee suffered their third loss of the season earlier this month, which essentially eliminated the Volunteers from the playoff conversation.
The Vols, however, can still finish the season on a strong note. Tennessee, in fact, can get their first road win against the Florida Gators since 2003 this weekend.
UT fans will obviously be disappointed if the Vols don't make the playoff this season, but a win against the Gators in the Swamp would certainly be a nice consolation.
Some college football teams will shy away from talking about lengthy losing streaks -- just to avoid any potential distractions.
Tennessee, however, isn't shying away from talking about the losing streak in the Swamp.
Vols center Sam Pendleton spoke to reporters on Tuesday and he acknowledged that Tennessee's players are aware of the streak.
"It's definitely something we've discussed and something that is on our mind," said Pendleton. "It's not necessarily something that we're like rah-rah around, but it's something that we want to take advantage of and go down there with a goal in mind, for sure."
Having the right mindset in this game will be important for the Vols. Tennessee will need to play free and with an edge to get a win in Gainesville for the first time since 2003.
