With one out in the bottom of the fifth and runners on first and second base, FSU pitcher Joe Charles struck out the Duke batter on a curveball, and at the same time, Duke's Devin Obee tried his luck at stealing third base. Seminoles catcher Jaxon West quickly snapped a throw to Cam Smith who applied the tag to get Obee out. Just like that, Florida State had gotten two outs and the inning was over.
