Under the interim guidance of Emerse Faé, they advanced to the knockout round as one of the best third-placed teams and will now play in the semifinals after defeating Mali 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

RD Congo form

RD Congo drew four out of their five matches in the tournament, winning only in the quarterfinals, with a 3-1 victory over Guinea. The Congolese team is in the semifinals of the AFCON for the sixth time and hadn’t reached this stage since the 2015 edition, where they finished third.
