The Tar Heels dominated the paint, outscoring the Wildcats inside 38-10. Reniya Kelly Carolina with 18 points and 6 assists, Maria Gakdeng added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists and Alyssa Ustby chipped in 13 points and 8 boards in the win. Former Virginia Tech star Georgia Amoore scored 10 points for Kenny Brooks' Wildcats in the loss.
