The Pitt Panthers found themselves trailing by 31 at home against SMU at halftime. Rather than lowering their heads and giving up, the Panthers responded with the best quarter in program history. Pitt outscored SMU 28-0 in the third quarter to cut the 31-point deficit down to three heading into the final quarter. Khadija Faye scored 12 points in the quarter to lead the Panthers and Marley Washenitz added eight points.
