The No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels went on the road and came away with a 68-58 win over the Syracuse Orange. Maria Gakdeng played a dominant game in the paint for UNC, recording her 3rd double-double of the season with a game-high 21 points on 9-16 shooting to go along with 14 rebounds, 2 blocked shots and a steal in the win. The Tar Heels improved to 8-0 on the road despite not having Alyssa Ustby in the lineup. Georgia Woolley led the Orange with 17 points in the loss.
