We like Booker, Durant to go off for Suns tonight

The Lakers pushed and Vegas-Edmonton needed just one more goal. Let's turn this week around in a hurry. For tonight, we'd like to cook up a few plus-money parlays. One, because nothing gets the blood pumping like some juicy player prop combos, but second and more importantly: they seem like winners to us.

Suns scoring props are hot

While we think Denver takes the win tonight back at home, we can't ignore what Devin Booker and Kevin Durant have been doing for the Phoenix Suns.

Since Chris Paul's injury in Game 2, the scoring burden has fallen on the shoulders of Booker and Durant, and they've both emphatically answered the call.

Booker has dropped 47 and 35 points in his past two games, and Durant has finished with 39 and 36. Booker in particular has been an absolute force lately. He's shooting a ridiculous 79% (!!) from the field in the last two games, and he's averaging 38.1 points per game over his last eight.

Paul remains out for Game 5, and it's hard to see either of Phoenix's two elite scorers slowing down now, especially after seeing such a direct correlation between their scoring and the Suns winning.

We're going to load up two plays built around Booker and Durant keeping this pace up. The first is for each to score "just" 30 points, something they've done together in four of their last six games.

Based on these two recent games, it's best we also take a stab at both scoring 35+. We recommend a smaller wager on that outcome, but we feel good about at least one play coming through tonight.

Betting:

  • Devin Booker and Kevin Durant 30+ points each (+147 FD)
  • Booker and Durant 35+ points each (+507 FD)

Goals have been flowing for Hurricanes-Devils series, so let's jump on

All three games so far have gone over between Carolina and New Jersey, and after Sunday's 8-4 outing, we might as well run a small goal-scorer parlay should this scoring output continue.

We're going to keep this read relatively simple: loading up the studs from each end.

Jack Hughes came alive in Game 3, scoring twice, now piling up six goals in his last nine games against the Hurricanes. Some line-shifting aided the New Jersey offense over the weekend, and we'd expect Timo Meier and Hughes to stay paired up given the success they had. It's for that reason we're liking Hughes to keep it rolling tonight.

On the Hurricanes' end, we like Sebastian Aho. He finally got on the board this series in Game 3, and now has a goal in three straight on the road. The top line for Carolina has consistently found goals this series and we don't see that changing tonight.

Betting: Jack Hughes & Sebastian Aho goals (+538 FD)

In the news ...

Seeds matter not, Heat and Lakers both go up 3-1 — It's been one of the wackiest NBA postseasons in recent memories, and we're here for it. The eighth-seeded Heat are now up 3-1 over the Knicks after dominating on the glass. Miami has dropped just two games in these playoffs, and the Heat are currently +1800 to win it all. No. 7 Los Angeles rallied late to take down the Warriors, thanks in no small part to 15 fourth-quarter points from Lonnie Walker. The Lakers head back to Golden State with a 3-1 lead, sitting at +350 to bring home the NBA Finals win.

Vegas throttles Edmonton to take series lead — This Vegas-Edmonton series has been as back-and-forth as they come. Fresh off a 5-1 Game 2 loss, the Golden Knights returned the favor with a 5-1 win of their own. The news to keep an eye on is the health of Vegas's goalie Laurent Brossoit. Brossoit left the game early with a non-contact lower-body injury, and Adin Hill stepped in and stopped all 25 shots he faced. It was a strong effort, but there's no denying Brossoit has been the better goalie. Edmonton sits at +120 to win the series.

Chicago Blackhawks win NHL draft lottery and earn the right to draft Connor Bedard — It's been widely known that the winner of this year's draft lottery would be selecting Connor Bedard. The Blackhawks won the top pick and the right to draft Bedard. Bedard is just 17 and compiled an absurd 143 points in 57 WHL games this past season. He's the best prospect to enter the NHL since Connor McDavid and a foundational piece for the next era for Chicago.
