The No. 8 seed Ohio State Buckeyes are set to face off against the No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns in a Cotton Bowl matchup on Friday night.
The College Football Playoff semifinal contest will take place at Arlington's AT&T Stadium, and this week's weather forecast has sparked some concerns regarding team travel and game conditions.
Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing across Texas this week. The National Weather Service reports "high confidence in at least measurable snow Wednesday night into Friday" in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
"Hazardous travel is likely Thursday and Friday, especially for untreated roads," the NWS wrote on its website.
These weather concerns prompted a statement from the Cotton Bowl on Monday.
"We are routinely monitoring weather and we are close contact with AT&T Stadium and local officials. We always have plans for inclement weather. Should conditions warrant it, we will communicate to everyone attending and connected with this year's Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic," the CFP bowl game wrote in a statement.
