Wednesday’s Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia has been postponed to Thursday night, according to a report from WSB-TV and Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.
The Sugar Bowl will now kick off at 8:45 p.m. ET on Thursday, and for those interested in how it impacts open Notre Dame vs. Georgia bets, I contacted various sportsbooks to determine how they’re approaching this situation.
The tragic event on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street early on New Year’s Day led officials to postpone the Notre Dame vs. Georgia Sugar Bowl. The last of the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, originally scheduled for 8:45 p.m. ET Wednesday night, was moved to 8:45 p.m. ET Thursday night.
Sportsbooks’ house rules for these scenarios are generally similar: All bets remain live action.
Caesars Sports confirmed that all wagers on Notre Dame-Georgia are valid for the postponed game.
“As long as it’s played within seven days,” Caesars’ head of football trading Joey Feazel said.
DraftKings, BetMGM, Circa Sports, The SuperBook, and Prime Sportsbook confirm that all bets remain action.
Borgata Sports, a BetMGM property in Atlantic City, posted its policy on X:
However, some operators’ house rules call for voiding all game-related bets and issuing refunds. That’s the case in Las Vegas for South Point, which might be true with other operators nationwide.
Check with your sportsbook to confirm the status of bets on postponed matchups.
