Chicago is cruising through April, and it feels like summer is just around the corner. It's time to get out and enjoy the city, so let's dive into What's On Tap in Chicago This Weekend: April 19-21, 2024.

Events

Chicago Rum Fest

Rum Fest brings some of the top rum producers in the world to Chicago. The goal is to provide a variety of rum for tasting and showcase the premiumization of the industry. Illinois houses one of the largest rum-consuming populations in the country, so it's only fitting Chicago hosts this event.

Chicago is always a great host city for the music industry. Find your jam and vibe out.

The Black Crowes and Glyders

Fifteen years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers put out "Happiness Bastards" — their 10th studio album. Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they’ve made a triumphant return.

They'll continue rocking in Chicago on Friday, and they'll also be back in the Windy City in January to open for Aerosmith. Tickets for Friday's show can be purchased here.

NBA

Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat

After dominating the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, the Bulls visit the Miami Heat in the final Eastern Conference NBA Play-In Game. The winner will advance to face Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Chicago has a golden opportunity to capitalize as former Bull and current Heat star Jimmy Butler is out with an MCL injury.

The Cubs defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 on Wednesday to wrap up their West Coast road trip. They now return to Wrigley Field to open a homestand with a four-game series against the Miami Marlins. Game 1 was scheduled for Thursday but Chicago weather had other plans, resulting in a split doubleheader set for Saturday.

The Fire return to Soldier Field to face Real Salt Lake this weekend. Hopefully the game will be more eventful than Chicago's 0-0 draw vs. the New York Red Bulls last week.

The Red Stars are coming off a 1-0 loss to Angel City FC last week. They'll look to turn it around on the road against the Seattle Reign.
