Where Texas Sits in the Week 6 AP Poll
Scott Wachter-Imagn Images

The Longhorns got their time to rest over the weekend as they took on their bye week in preparation for the Florida Gators next week, which will be the first game of conference play for Texas.

Although the Longhorns didn’t play over the weekend, Saturday still provided fans with a day of good football as there were plenty of top 25 matchups and action, which influenced this week’s AP Poll.

The biggest movement over the weekend was a result of No. 13 Ole Miss beating No. 4 LSU 24-19, which resulted in the teams trading positions in the rankings.

No. 3 Penn State was the second top-4 team to fall victim to an upset after it lost to No. 6 Oregon after two overtimes. That result propelled the Ducks into the No. 2 spot, while the Nittany Lions dropped to No. 7.

At the same time, No. 5-ranked Georgia lost its third straight to a No. 17-ranked Alabama.

After all the action, Texas found its way up one spot in the rankings to No. 9. Check out the full top 25 here:
