The NCAA revealed Sunday that Vanderbilt baseball will host a regional at Hawkins Field as part of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
It’s a familiar position for the Commodores, who are making their 19th straight postseason appearance — the longest active streak in the country and an SEC record.
Vanderbilt finished the regular season 42-16 overall and 19-11 in conference play, tied for third in the SEC.
Their resume includes series wins over top-tier opponents like the Tennessee Volunteers and Alabama Crimson Tide, along with dominant sweeps of the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs.
Those wins, combined with a No. 1 national ranking in RPI and the second-toughest schedule in the country, earned the Commodores home-field advantage to open the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed.
The Nashville Regional will include the Louisville Cardinals, East Tennessee State Buccaneers and Wright State Raiders. Vanderbilt enters as the top seed in the group and will face Wright State in its first game.
Louisville, the No. 2 seed, draws ETSU to round out the regional’s opening matchups.
This is a chance for Vanderbilt to get back on track in the postseason after early exits in recent years.

The Commodores haven’t made it out of the regional round since 2021, when they reached the College World Series finals.
That stretch marks the second-longest super regional drought in the SEC, an uncharacteristic skid for a program that has become synonymous with Omaha.
Still, the pieces are in place for a serious run.
The Commodores are hosting, they’ve handled one of the toughest schedules in the country, and they’re led by longtime head coach Tim Corbin, who knows what it takes in June.
The road to Omaha is never easy, but it will run through Nashville next weekend.
