Notre Dame has picked up another important commitment by landing Arizona wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald, who has pledged to the Fighting Irish. The Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep standout picked Notre Dame over Clemson, Stanford and UCLA.
Wide receiver was an important position of need for Notre Dame in the 2026 class, and Fitzgerald adds a unique talent to the group. Notre Dame now has four wide receivers committed in the class, with Fitzgerald joining Texas star Kaydon Finley, Georgia standout Bubba Frazier and Florida athlete Dylan Faison.
Notre Dame has recruited Fitzgerald for over a year, but things heated up in recent months. Following an outstanding junior season, Fitzgerald saw his recruitment heat up nationally. Programs like Notre Dame, Clemson and Michigan all extended offers in the spring. Notre Dame made a visit down to Arizona in the spring and following that trip it was clear that Fitzgerald had become a priority target for the Irish coaching staff.
He was officially offered by the Notre Dame on May 15th and from that moment on the Irish were a major player in his recruitment. His official visit to Notre Dame the weekend of June 13th helped deal the deal for the talented pass catcher.
