The Wisconsin Badgers have dug into the in-state talent pool once again in the 2027 cycle to add a notable four-star talent to the team.

2027 four-star Germantown (WI) offensive tackle Cole Reiter announced his commitment to Wisconsin this afternoon. Reiter is widely considered to be one of the top recruits in the state and the Badgers have been involved with the recruit for quite some time. Securing the commitment is a full circle moment for the staff after putting countless hours into building a more significant recruiting presence within the state.

The 2027 class in the state of Wisconsin has been considered to be a special one with three recruits among the top 200 in the nation and five total four-star players. The Badgers have dominated thus far in the cycle, landing commitments from four-stars Korz Loken, who is the top ranked recruit in the state, and Reiter. The program is currently projected to land eight of the top ten recruits in the state this cycle.

Adding Reiter means more to the staff than just winning geographical battles, however, as the recruit could be a long-term solution to issues along the offensive line. There is no debating that the line struggled at times a season ago under former position coach AJ Blazek, but with changes in the staff and on the roster the Badgers hope the issues were just a one-off.

Wisconsin recently had the pleasure of hosting Reiter for an additional visit which came weeks after picking up multiple predictions to land with the program. The visit appeared to work as a nail in the coffin as the offensive tackle is bound to play his collegiate ball in Madison.

With Reiter officially locked up, the Wisconsin staff will likely move in on fellow in-state players like Kingston Allen as well as Reece and Hunter Mallinger. Allen boasts a four-star rating but has primarily heard from the Badgers this far into his recruitment which has given the staff an edge.

Outside of the state of Wisconsin, the focus of the staff will likely continue to be on long-term targets like Blake Betton. The talented linebacker has been on the radar of the staff for months and the Badgers could be close to locking down a firm lead. Other potential targets who Wisconsin could begin to show more attention to would be three-star quarterback Jack Sorgi, a potential legacy commitment from Tri-West (IN) who recently decommitted from the Louisville Cardinals.
