Wisconsin Badgers Keeping Close Tabs on Big 2026 FAU Commitment
Former Wisconsin Football 2026 Target Announces New Rutgers Commitment 3 Wisconsin defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow is shown during spring football practice Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Madison, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Badgers football team plays their season opener against Western Michigan on August 31.

The Wisconsin Badgers previously held three defensive line commitments and could work to once again hold three before national signing day.

Currently the Badgers hold commitments along the defensive line from Djidjou Bah and Arthur Scott, two talented three-star prospects. The Badgers also held a commitment from three-star Carmelow Reed but the recruit later flipped his commitment to the Ole Miss Rebels.

Wisconsin held a camp on June 17th and invited a potential lineman who could replace Reed within the 2026 class. Three-star Frederic Sainteus impressed the Badgers staff and landed himself on the radar of defensive line coach EJ Whitlow. Less than two weeks later, however, Sainteus announced his commitment to FAU who were the first program to offer the recruit.

Wisconsin Badgers Could Work to Flip Frederic Sainteus Following Madison Camp, FAU Commitment

Despite the commitment, Wisconsin remains impressed with Sainteus and could extend an offer to the recruit as his commitment continues to progress. Since announcing his commitment to FAU, Sainteus has earned scholarships from Michigan State, Florida, Syracuse, and Miami (FL). More programs remained interested and could extend offers as his commitment to FAU is likely not the end of the road.

On the field, Sainteus is a powerful defensive lineman who can stuff the run and get to the quarterback. The defensive lineman recorded 71 total tackles, six quarterback hits, and 5.5 sacks in just nine games last season proving to be one of the more productive players on the field.

Standing in at 6-foot-4-inches, and roughly 275-pounds, Sainteus is not just a powerful lineman but also a quick, agile multi-sport athlete who fits the profile of what the staff looks for at the position. Sainteus is also an accomplished wrestler and track and field athlete who throws the discus and shot put.

Sainteus takes skills from each sport and combines them into one frame to create a rather disruptive offensive lineman. Between the speed and power of Sainteus, the defensive lineman consistently finds his way into the backfield before the offense has a chance to react. The defender possesses great pursuit skills and a developing knowledge of defensive and offensive schemes.

With the Wisconsin Badgers in mind, Sainteus is a quick defender who works to blow up plays and does not stop working until the whistle blows. The Badgers look for high-motor defenders like Sainteus and the fit within the defense would be great for both parties.

Wisconsin has not offered a scholarship to the defensive lineman yet, but an offer could be something that materializes in the near future. Sainteus is someone who will likely see the recruiting process through to national signing day, which is February 4th. The Badgers are in no rush to try to land another commitment in the 2026 class at this moment but have eyes on multiple players including Sainteus.
