The Wisconsin Badgers previously appeared to be a program that could be out of range for a top recruit despite his deep in-state ties.
Korz Loken, a four-star 2027 recruit and the top ranked recruit in the state of Wisconsin, is the ninth ranked tight end in the 2027 class and the 132nd recruit overall. Loken has certainly made a name for himself far beyond the state of Wisconsin, and programs such as Auburn, Kansas, Kentucky, and Notre Dame have extended scholarship offers. The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound tight end is both a play-maker and the dream of an offensive coordinator as Loken takes pride in being an all-around tight end.

Despite the outside influences and major interested programs, the Wisconsin Badgers have continued to be a big presence in the recruitment of Loken. The tight end has been on campus multiple times already and even booked a fall game-day visit with the Badgers which is a sign that the recruit is still considering staying home in the near future.
Currently, Loken is set to visit Wisconsin on September 20th which would be in line with the game against Maryland. Wisconsin already has a handful of visitors for the game and Loken will be one of the premier recruiting targets attending the important game.
In addition to his visit with the Badgers, Loken is also scheduled to visit Kansas State (August 30th), Notre Dame (September 13th), and Penn State (September 27th). The visit schedule for Loken is currently tentative, but the four programs are presumed to be the main leaders in the recruitment of the tight end. Iowa State, Mississippi State, and Florida State are also programs to watch as the staff members continue to develop relationships with Loken.
For the Wisconsin Badgers, there is no time to waste in the recruitment of Loken and if the staff does not keep a foot on the gas, the tight end could leave the state. Loken recently reassured Badgers fans that the interest in staying home is both true and strong, but only if the opportunity makes sense for his future. Wisconsin will need to show Loken how the fit into the program would work and how the athlete could help redefine the tight end position as offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes takes over the offense.
Additionally, Loken has also been someone who has been vocal about wanting to get a commitment done and out of the way so the process can be over with. Letting off of the gas now could mean losing ground and losing out on a commitment as the tight end continues to work towards a decision.
