A current 2026 class Wisconsin Badgers commitment is in the midst of a tough eligibility battle that could force him to sit out four games.

Tayshon Bardo, a three-star wide receiver, announced his commitment to the Badgers back in March and has been a positive face around the program since. Bardo took numerous visits during his off-season to speak with different recruits and commitments while growing closer to the entire program. On the field, however, the wide receiver has not been able to have quite the same impact just yet.

Bardo announced he would transfer from Penn High School to Elkhart High School and was subsequently suspended for four games. The wide receiver is going through a similar situation that another Wisconsin Badgers commitment also faced as quarterback Ryan Hopkins nearly had to sit out a portion of the season after transferring to Mater Dei.

Wisconsin Badgers 2026 Class Commitment Tayshon Bardo to Learn Eligibility Fate During Hearing

Bardo is currently serving a four game suspension for transferring programs from Penn to Elkhart and the first game has already been served. However, Bardo has an additional hearing scheduled and could return to play without missing any additional time. Should a favorable ruling be handed down then the receiver will be able to join his team for the next game.

There is also a slight chance that Bardo is forced to continue to sit out, which is not the end of the world but would be a tough break for the receiver. Bardo has truly begun to put everything together on the field and played his best football last season, while also looking solid throughout the summer. Missing a portion of his season after putting in immense work is a difficult situation to deal with, and hopefully one the receiver can overcome mentally.

For the Wisconsin Badgers, regardless of how much Bardo is able to play this season the wide receiver will be a great addition to the program. The receiver has the hunger and high energy attitude that the Badgers staff is looking for out of the team. Additionally, Bardo has also fully bought into what the program is selling and even helped recruit some of the current 2026 class commitments that Wisconsin landed.

On the field, Bardo is an electric play-maker who consistently finds different ways to get open and make something happen down the field. The wide receiver is a constant presence on the field as defenses cannot allow the athlete to go uncovered on any given play. Bardo combines speed with raw athleticism and a great football mind to create a rather difficult receiver to battle with on the field.
