The Wisconsin Badgers have been working to develop closer relationships within the 2027 class with the visit schedule coming together.
Many targets already have visits locked-in, while others are nearing a date and game which could bode well for the Badgers recruiting efforts. One such recruit who could be on campus this fall for a game is 2027 three-star wide receiver Amare Patterson, a native of South Carolina and the 376th recruit in the class. Patterson is a talent wide receiver with an impressive list of offers that includes Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin is the newest team to join the recruit of Patterson, officially extending a scholarship to the wide receiver on August 3rd. When asked about the relationship with Wisconsin thus far, Patterson stated, “My experience with Wisconsin is going great so far. Me and Coach Reid was chopping it up multiple days before he offered me so we built a bond from those conversations we had.”
Wide receivers coach Jordan Reid has been the primary recruiter of Patterson and has been known to be both an energetic and effective recruiter. When asked about receiving the scholarship, Patterson stated, “After coach Reid offered me I was very excited because I do know the history of Wisconsin.”
With an offer now in hand, the Wisconsin staff will turn to booking a game visit for the upcoming season with Patterson. “I’ll most definitely be visiting Madison for a game this upcoming fall,” stated Patterson about potentially visiting this fall.
A visit would be crucial for the Wisconsin Badgers moving forward as other programs such as Nebraska and Florida have begun to heavily pursue the recruit. The recruiting process has continued to grow more and more serious for the receiver, who is taking the process one step at a time. “The main thing I look forward to in a program is a coach that can develop me on the field but most importantly off the field as a player and a young man,” stated Patterson.
For the Wisconsin Badgers, the staff including coach Reid will need to be in the process for the long haul as Patterson is only scratching the surface. “I look forward to getting close with all the schools that offered me,” stated Patterson when asked about what is next in the process.
On the field, Patterson is a dynamic receiver with both great size and tremendous burning speed that keeps the defense on edge. Patterson can never be forgotten about on the field and the constant pressure his speed and separation abilities place on a defense is immense. The wide receiver also possesses excellent hands and great field vision, which often allows Patterson to break away from would-be losses for massive gains.
Patterson is still developing but the early skills he has shown at the position are reminiscent of how current Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Eugene Hilton Jr. looked in high school. Patterson is controlled, intelligent, and plays a very mature level of football for such a young recruit.
