A top defensive back on the Wisconsin football recruiting board has earned his fourth star after a season full of hard work and big plays.
Raheem Floyd, a 2027 cornerback from East Saint Louis, Illinois, has been elevated to a four-star recruit after joining the ESPN Top 300. Floyd has already been considered a four-star recruit by some databases, but now having another rating truly solidifies the success in the mind of the recruit. The Illinois native has quickly become one of the fastest rising recruits coming out of the midwest.

Floyd, a 6-foot-1-inch, 160-pound defender, currently holds scholarship offers from Arizona State, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss, and a handful of other programs in addition to Wisconsin. The Wisconsin football program extended a scholarship to Floyd back in April and managed to get out ahead of the major rush of offers the recruit recently saw.
With a fourth star and a jump into the top 300 recruits in the 2027 class, the currently recruiting bump Floyd has seen is likely just the tip of the iceberg. The recruit has a pivotal season coming up that could dictate where the rest of the recruiting process goes.
While Floyd only has an offer in hand and the recruiting process has not truly taken off yet, the fit within the Wisconsin football program can already be seen.
Floyd is a lengthy, athletic defensive back which is the mold that Wisconsin pushes for in the secondary. Wisconsin likes fast, explosive, and rangy defenders who can cover plenty of space on the field without worry of being burned. Anyone can lose a rep, but with explosive speed and athleticism losing become less likely during each play.
On the field, Floyd is an instinctual player who studies both the field and the offense as a whole during the game. Floyd connects patterns and rarely allows for a mistake to repeat which is a habit that the Wisconsin football staff and other programs have admired.
