After landing a tight end in the 2026 recruiting class, the Wisconsin football staff has displayed a new expectation for the position.
Jack Sievers, an explosive three-star 2026 tight end, committed to the Wisconsin football program a night ago. Sievers is a big pickup for Wisconsin as the Badgers traveled to Washington to land the recruit, and beat out opposing Minnesota in the process.
Tight end has been an interesting position for Wisconsin over the past few seasons with limited production coming out of the room. The Badgers had a slew of struggles during the 2024 season on offense but only managed to record 202-yards receiving and one touchdown from four tight ends.
Wisconsin has not necessarily used the position to the maximum potential nor has the room been filled with players who fit the mold the team is looking for. However, enter Sievers and the situation changes as Wisconsin has landed someone who can truly change the offense in multiple ways.
After landing a commitment from Sievers, envisioning the potential fit into the Wisconsin football offense can already be seen.
Standing in at 6-foot-4-inches, roughly 230-pounds, the big frame of Sievers is perhaps one of the best tools the tight end possesses. Sievers is a tall, thick tight end that can provide impact blocks and hold onto catches through contact. Knocking Sievers off-balance is difficult and the recruit prides himself on being a player who does a bit of everything at the position.

In the receiving game, Sievers is perhaps most dangerous due to not only his frame but also his freakish speed. Sievers has above average wide receiver speed in the body of a tight end, and still has some room to go before fully rounding out his physique. Compared to the talent currently on the Wisconsin football roster at the same position, Sievers is arguably the most talented receiver of the group.
Receiving might be the name of the game for Sievers but it is not all that the tight end focuses on. Sievers is an excellent athlete who has excelled at nearly every sport he has touched. The athleticism of Sievers truly sets the tight end apart from other players at the position and could be what allows for the most success at the collegiate level.
What bodes well for Sievers moving forward is how well the recruit fits into the offensive mold that coordinator Jeff Grimes is looking for. Grimes likes to attack defense and has been known to utilize the tight end position.
